Aside from all the new units added, Blizzard has also introduced many new features and changed some old elements of the game making it more enjoyable

One of these new features is the clan option which is basically a new form of ladder. Ladder games played by clan members will count toward the overall clan rating. If you want to start a clan, you’ll need to make a clan tag 2-4 characters long and have 9 or more people join your clan. A clan is allowed to have up to 100 players. Every clan has 4 positions for its members: one Chieftain, 10 Shamans, Grunts and Peons. The Chieftain has the greatest authority, which is to invite or remove members. Shamans may promote a Peon to a Grunt or demote a Grunt to a Peon.

Grunts may modify clan profile information while Peons have the least authority and basically can’t do much. The ladder games played by Peons will not count towards the clan rating. A new member of the clan must remain a Peon for at least one week before he may be promoted to a Grunt. The leader of a clan is automatically chosen as the Chieftain and he has the power to disband the clan or designate a new Chieftain. Clans also find their own private channel to advertise their clan’s site and info.

There’s also a new tournament feature which makes tournaments more practicable for both the hosts and the participants. In addition, Blizzard will be hosting tournaments of their own and will probably give out prizes to the winners.
